NEW DELHI: A collection of 250 tales, each under 140 characters and told by over 100 contributors, is set for a unique launch – on Facebook Live.

Penguin Random House and contemporary micro-fiction platform Terribly Tiny Tales have come together to bring out this handpicked collection.

The book will be launched on October 3 by Tanmay Bhat of the comedy sketch group All India Bakchod.

"The book features curated favourites from the TTT community and brand new tales as well as exclusive entries by Penguin's bestselling authors," Penguin said in a statement.

The publishers say each story in the collection is written in 140 characters or fewer, "waiting to stir a world".

Speaking on the book, Anuj Gosalia and Chintan Ruparel, the founders of the TTT community say, "From the time we started Terribly Tiny Tales, our community of readers has been waiting for the official book. With over a hundred writers and our very best stories from over a hundred thousand submissions, the first TTT book brings together the best of micro fiction from across India and the world."

Tanmay Bhat jocularly says that the only reason he is involved in the launch is "because I get to get my hands on the book before anybody else".
