The highest temporal seat of Sikhs, Akal Takht, on Thursday found Punjab Revenue Minister Bik-ram Singh Majithia guilty of religious misconduct and directed him to undergo religi-ous punishment at all the five temporal seats of the Sikhs.
The five high priests at Akal Takht Sahib considered the apology tendered by Majithia for his unintentional guilt of distorting Gurbani hymn of Tenth Guru Guru Gobind Sin-gh at an election rally at Amri-tsar a few days ago. They had called Majithia on Thursday to the Akal Takht Sahib and pronounced TANKHAH (religious punishment) for his reli-gious misconduct. Bowing before Akal Takhat, Bikram Singh Majithia admitted to his guilt and accepted the TANKHAH announced by the highest temporal seat of Sikhs (Akal Takht). According to the Hukamnama (order), Majithia will perform Sewa at all the five Takhts, including Takhat Harmandar (Patna Sahib), Takhat Kesgarh Sahib (Anandpur Sahib), Takhat Sachkhand Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib (Nanded) and Takhat Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo). After this , Majithia will hold Akhand Path at Akal Takhat Sahib and will perform Sewa of cleaning utensils, listening of Gurbani and contribution in Langar Sewa for three days. He will again appe-ar at Akal Takhat Sahib and make contribution of `501and `101 ‘Deg’ (Karah Parshad) and seek apology after Ardas. This decision of Akal Takhat Sahib will be followed by all the Takhat Sahiban.
Majithia, brother-in-law of Punjab Deputy CM and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Bad-al, in order to seek votes for BJP candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley, distorted a hymn (shabad) of tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh, at a Kamboj community meeting in Shaheed Udham Singh Hall.
He had said, “Deh Shiva var mohe, Shubh karman se kabhoon na taroon, na daroon ar seo jab jaye laroon, Nishchay kar Arun Jaitley ki jit karoon”.
The tenth Sikh Guru had written - “Deh Shiva var mohe, Shubh karman se kabhoon na taroon, na taroon arson jab jahi laroon, Nishchay kar Apni jeet karoon”.
