On Wednesday, a 16-year-old boy died after being hit on the head with a cricket bat.

Shivam, the deceased victim, who lived in Uttar Pradesh's Minora Kalpi village came to Delhi a fortnight ago to spend some quality family time with his parents and younger brothers.

A case of culpable homicide has been registered against Akash, who is accused of killing Shivam and has been detained.

According to reports, Shivam was invited by Akasha and three other friends to play cricket, to which he agreed and went.

Shivam's father Jagdish said, 'Around 6.30pm, one of his friends came rushing to inform us about what had happened though he had not told us that our son had died. We went to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital but the doctors didn't allow us to see him for even a minute.'

Amit, one of Shivam's friend and a key witness said, 'I was at a distance and talking to another person in our group when I turned and saw Aakash hurling abuses at Shivam and then hit him with a bat, soon after which he collided.'

Amit is the one who informed his parents about the incident.
