SHILLONG: A moderate intensity earthquake rocked the entire north eastern region late last night, officials said here today.

There was, however, no loss of life or damage to property.

The tremor reading 5.4 magnitude in the Richter Scale struck at around 11.48 PM last night.

Its epicentre was in Churachandpur district of Manipur at a depth of about 55 km underneath the earth’s crust, an official at the Regional Seismological Centre here told PTI.
