BENGALURU: As the controversy over the arrest of MP Pratap Simha for ramming his car through police barricades took a major political turn, a video of the MP sharing tactics of BJP Yuva Morcha, has gone viral.
The video which started to circulate on late Sunday evening was shared multiple times on social media websites. In the 37-second video, the MP explains that there were directions issued to BJP Yuva Morcha by party national Amit Shah to stage intense agitations, involving tear gas shells and lathicharge in the city in November.
"Amit Shah had come to Bengaluru and had invited all morchas in the state. He had asked Yuva Morcha members, how many protests they had conducted in the past few days, what was the outcome etc. We detailed the protests we had conducted. He said that Yuva Morcha should hold intense agitations. He had asked, were there any protests where tear gas was fired or police had lathicharged? I told him, "Sir, we haven't had such protests." He later asked us to hold such protests, and we promised to conduct such protests in the future," the MP is seen saying in the video.
Pratap Simha was arrested for violating the route sanctioned by Mysuru district police to take out Hanuman Jayanthi celebration in Hunsur, near here. He along with his supporters was taken into custody for deviating from the route approved by the police.
Due to the issue, Hunsur had remained tense and prohibitory orders were imposed in the town on Monday.
