LAKHIMPUR: A 35-year-old woman and her minor daughter were today killed after being hit by a speeding truck here, police said.
The incident took place when the woman, identified as Guddi Devi (35), along with her four-year-old daughter, residents of Ratahri village, were returning home from their field, they said.
Following the incident, the truck overturned and fell into a roadside ditch, the police said.
They said that the truck driver has been taken into custody.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, the police said, adding that an FIR has been registered in this connection.
