Crackdown on drugs, late parties is priority: Goa CM Parrikar

Parrikar added that there would be no tolerance to crime against women.

PANAJI: Goa Police has been told to crack down on drugs and late night parties where drugs are sold, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Wednesday.

Parrikar added that there would be no tolerance to crime against women.

"I have given clear instruction vis-a-vis law and order to the police that number one drugs, number two no late parties where drugs are (sold)," he said, a day after meeting top police officials in the state.

"About crimes against women, no tolerance in that matter."

The Chief Minister also said that he was concerned about encroachments on National Highways.

Barring old women selling vegetables or something like that, in case they do not obstruct traffic, no one would be allowed to encroach on highways, he said.

Parrikar took over as Chief Minister of the coastal state last week.
