Five terrorists killed,two army soldiers injured in encounter in J&K's Kulgam

A group of 4-5 militants are hiding at Kader village of Kulgam in south Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: At least five militants were killed and two Indian army personnel injured in the ongoing encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday.

According to the Defence spokesperson, a joint search operation was launched by Army and police based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of a group of 4-5 militants hiding at Kader village of Kulgam in south Kashmir.

"During the search operation, terrorists opened an indiscriminate and heavy volume of fire. The joint team of the security forces retaliated leading to a gunfight," the defence spokesman said.

He said that five militants were dead and two army personnel injured have been hospitalized.

The anti-militancy operation is going on.
