Chennai, Nov 4 (PTI) Chennai will be hosting theinaugural edition of Table Tennis Super League-Tamil Nadu,which will feature the top paddlers of the state, fromNovember 24 to 26.

The tournament, organised by Indusports, under theauspices of Tamil Nadu Table Tennis Association and 11EvenSports would be held at the Express Avenue mall here.

The league would have eight teams, and each would havesix members from different categories — men, women, juniorboys, junior girls, cadet boys and veterans.

Each tie would comprise six singles and three doublesmatches, the organisers said.

"We are hoping variations in age groups will help thembond as each team will have someone from under 12 years toover 40," said former national champion Kamlesh Mehta,director, 11Even Sports.

The teams were formed through a players auction, where60 players were bought by teams.

E Prabhakaran emerged the highest paid player, goingfor Rs 52,500 and was followed by S Nikhil who was bought forRs 50,500.

Among women, T Reeth Rishya commanded the highestprice of Rs 40,500 and Yashini Sivasankar was the secondhighest (Rs 38,250).

Former National Games champion N Arul Selvi and TNTTAtreasurer J Selvakumar thanked 11Even Sports and the tabletennis federation for their support. PTI SSBN.
