Jaggery: Firm conditions were seen at the wholesaleJaggery: Firm conditions were seen at the wholesalejaggery market during the week as gur prices firmed up atmarket on increased offtake by stockists following pick up indemand in view of festive season against restricted supplies.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted asimilar trend on increased buying by stockists.

Marketmen said besides upsurge in demand from retailersdue to ongoing festive season, tight stocks position on fallin arrivals from growing regions, mainly led to the rise ingur prices.

At Delhi, gur chakku shot up by Rs 200 to Rs 3,800-3,900per quintal.

At Muzzfarnagar, gur raskat and chakku also went up to Rs2,700-2,750 and Rs 3,800-3,950 from previous levels of Rs2,600-2,650 and Rs 3,600-3,700 per quintal respectively.

Gur pedi and dhayya prices in Muradnagar, mandi toofinished higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 3,500-3,600 and Rs 3,600-3,650 per quintal respectively. (MORE) PTI KPS SUN ADIMKJ.
