GOYANG: Svetlana Podobedova of Kazakhstan set three world records to claim three gold medals in the women's 75-kilogram (165-pound) division at the World Weightlifting Championships on Saturday.

Podobedova lifted 132 kilograms (291.01 pounds) on her third and final attempt in the snatch at the tournament in Goyang, South Korea, beating the previous world record by 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds).

She also hoisted 160 kilgrams (352.74 pounds) in the clean and jerk. Her combined 292 kilograms (643.74 pounds) won another gold and broke the previous record by 6 kilograms (13.23 pounds).
