BHOPAL: It rained goals in most of the matches played on the opening day today of the 1st Hockey India Senior Men National Championship being played at various venues in the city.
In one match, Punjab which trounced Gujarat by 25 goals to nil led 13-nil at half-time.
In the next match, Railways overwhelmed Tripura 28-0 and it led 13-0 at the breather.
In yet another match, Services outclassed Manipur seven-nil and half-time score was 3-0 in its favour.
Tamil Nadu beat Uttarakhand by seven-nil after leading 3-0 at half-time.
Jharkhand defeated Himachal Pradesh three-nil although the first half was goalless.
Among the losers, Puducherry was the only team which managed to score a goal against its opponents Combined Universities which won 4-1.
