HYDERABAD: A gallant Jwala Gutta and V Diju went down fighting to Korea’s Yoo Yeon Seong and Jang Ye Na 21-6, 19-21, 19-21 in a 53-minute keenly contested mixed doubles semifinal match of the China Masters Super Series badminton tournament at Changzhou on Saturday.

The Indian pair began on a fine note. However, the Koreans bounced back in the 2nd game. There was a close battle before the Koreans wrapped up the game.

In the third, it was the Koreans who started with a good lead. Jwala and Diju fought back. They came close to 19-20 but the Koreans held their nerves to eke out the win.
