The second round of the YZF-R15 One Make Race Championship at the Madras Motor Race Track, was as thrilling as the inaugural edition with bikers blazing the track with gusto. With competitions in novice and open categories, the event saw a healthy turnout of contestants as well as spectators. While Ramesh Kumar and S Prem Hari won the first and second races in the novice category, Shyam Kumar and R Dinesh Kumar claimed honours in the two Yahama R15 Open grid. The championship will have three rounds and concludes in December.
Jun Nakata, director of sales and marketing, India Yamaha Motor, said the company would further encourage the sport in the country. “The second season of the YZF-R15 One Make Race Championship has witnessed tremendous enthusiasm. We are happy with the response we’ve been receiving throughout this championship,” he said.
The winners will represent India Yamaha Motor at the Yamaha ASEAN Cup 2012 to be held later this year. “Through our racing events like the Riding Clinic and R15 Racing Championships, we take forward our legacy of being a brand that is refining motorcycling culture in India by giving them an opportunity to represent the country on international platforms,” he added.
