CHENNAI: Kaushik U Ram’s unbeaten 81 helped Appaiah Chettiar Memorial Cricket Club (ACMCC) beat Sical Recreation Club by six wickets in a third division A zone league match of the TNCA.

Brief scores: III Division ‘A’: Sical Recreation Club 168 for 9 in 50 overs (U Aswin 42, VP  Subash 31, VS Tamizhdhasan 3-39) lost to Appaiah Chettiar Memorial Cricket Club 169 for 4 in 45.4 overs (Kaushik U Ram 81 no, NS Harish 3-30); City Central League 145 in 47.1 overs (MF Jim Israel 35, B Nishaanth 34, R Sarath Kanna 4-47) lost to Krishnaraj Memorial Club 146 for 5 in 38.3 overs (S Sharvin Kumar 56); Falcon Cricket Club 143 in 41.2 overs (V Nagaraj 39, R Ravi Kumar 38, M Lakshminarayanan 5-36, J Parthiban 4-41) bt Reserve Bank Recreation Club 138 for 8 in 50 overs (T Vigneshpathy 32, A Maria Francis 4- 38).

Boxing Tourney

Boxing Association of Tamil Nadu is organising Kovai Sri Guru -state level men’s invitation boxing championships at  School of Boxing at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from  December 29 to 31. The event will be held in 10 different weight categories (from 46kg to 91-plus kg).  The duration for each bout is three minutes. About 250 boxers from Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Ramnad, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Tirupur, Kovai, Dharmapuri, Trichy, Nagapattinam, Villupuram, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chennai will be seen in action in the three-day event.
