DHAKA: Bangladeshi selectors have recalled Mashrafe bin Moratza to the 14-man squad for the Asia Cup limited-overs tournament beginning Sunday in the nation's capital, Dhaka.
The selectors have dropped four of the 15 players who were part of a home one-day series against Pakistan in December.
In a statement late Monday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board said the selectors dropped regular opener Tamim Iqbal while including Mortaza, who led the Dhaka Gladiators to victory in the inaugural T20 Bangladesh Premier League.
Iqbal played only two games for the Chittagong Kings due to a groin injury.
Apart from Mortaza, the selectors called in Nazimuddin, Jahurul Islam, Shahadat Hossain and Anamul Haque.
The names of the captain or the vice-captain has not been released.
Bangladesh will face Pakistan in the opening match of the competition at Dhaka's Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
