LONDON: Serbian international Dusan Tadic has ended his four year stay at Premier League outfit Southampton and signed for Dutch giants Ajax the selling club announced on its website.

The 29-year-old -- who is presently on World Cup duty -- scored 23 goals in 162 appearances for Saints after joining them from another Dutch side FC Twente.

"Southampton Football Club can confirm that Dusan Tadic has agreed a move to Ajax for an undisclosed fee," Saints announced on their official website.

"The transfer, which will be officially completed on July 1, sees the 29-year-old move back to the Dutch top flight, four years after joining Saints from FC Twente."

Tadic's departure comes hot on the heels of Southampton manager Mark Hughes signing Scotland midfielder Stuart Armstrong from Celtic for a reported fee of £7 million ($9.25 million, 8 million euros).
