Indian Weightlifting Federation President Birendra Prasad Baishya has been elected chairman of two sub-committees of the parent international body.

NEW DELHI: Indian Weightlifting Federation President Birendra Prasad Baishya has been elected chairman of two sub-committees of the parent international body.

Baishya was elected as chairman of International Weightlifting Federation's Ethics Commission as well as of Anti-Disciplinary Commission at the world body's Executive Committee Meeting held at Bucharest. "He (Baishya) has previously served as the chairman of IWF Ethics Commission for the year 2017-2021," a press release from the Indian Weightlifting Federation said.

Baishya is currently serving as the Executive Board member of Asian Weightlifting Federation and also as Vice-President of Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation.
