STUTTGART: Spain's Feliciano Lopez qualified for the quarterfinals of the Stuttgart Open tennis tournament on Thursday beating French rival Jeremy Chardy 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

The 35-year-old Spaniard needed one hour and 34 minutes to defeat the World No.80 Chardy, reports Efe.

Lopez is set to play in the quarterfinals against the winner of the duel between Czech Tomas Berdych and Australian Bernard Tomic.
