The annual Kartheeka Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavati at Thiruchanoor temple was celebrated Sunday.

TIRUPATI: Ankurarpanam for the annual Kartheeka Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavati at Thiruchanoor temple was performed Sunday in accordance with the sacred scriptures. Punyavachanam, Raksha Bandhanam and Senadhipathi Utsavam were held to mark the occasion.

Senadhipathivaru was taken in a procession around the four Mada Streets inviting celestial beings to the temple fete.

In the morning, a procession was taken out from Sannidhi to Sri Krishnaswamy temple Mukha Mandapam. It was followed by Laksha Kumkumaarchana to Goddess Padmavati. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer KV Ramanachary and others participated in the temple rituals.

The nine-day temple festival will formally commence with Dhwajarohanam tomorrow morning. The processional deity will be taken out on Chinna Sesha Vahanam in the evening. Kartheeka Brahmotsavams will conclude with Panchami Teertham on December 2.

The TTD has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the temple festival. Security at Thiruchanoor has also been stepped up.
