HYDERABAD: Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy today denied that she was acting in a partisan manner while quelling riots in the State.

Speaking to reporters at the State Secertariat, she said she was the home minister for the entire State and not for one region (she is from Telangana) and that her primary objective was to ensure law and order. She said she had no intention of using force with an aim to crush the movement for a United Andhra Pradesh.

She maintained that the police would have to act if students or agitators, for whatever cause they fought, took law into their hands. She advised them not to resort to violence and not damage either pubic or private property.
