HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is likely to enroll life members from this year. The party hitherto has only two types of memberships - ordinary and active.

But, professionals like doctors, lawyers and others were not being able to renew the membership every two years.

Hence the party is thinking of introducing life membership for the elite.

``If the party finds that any life member's track record was not good, it would cancel his membership,'' a general secretary of the party said.

He informed that the party is also thinking of introducing patron membership for the elite.

The party's membership drive wi l l be launched in the last week of this month. Despite, the volatile situation in the State, the party hopes to get good response to its membership drive in Telangana region. ``TDP has a strong cadre base in Telangana. The response to pro-Telangana agitation in the region was good. We will get the same response for the membership drive in Telangana,'' the party leaders averred. The party has around 80 lakh members in the State.
