KHAMMAM: District education officer Jhansi Ratna Devi was sacked today by the director of school education Satyanarayana, holding her responsible for death of the two students in a gun misfire case in Velerupad village on Wednesday.
Satyanarayana issued orders to this effect on Thursday night. Madhira deputy DEO B Venkatanarasamma has been appointed in her place.
District officials submitted a report to the school eduction director saying that Jhansi Ratna Devi did not even visit the school in Velerupad village where the incident took place. Based on the report the director took the decision.
