ANANTAPUR: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma has received support from unexpected quarters for his latest bilingual film Raktha Charitra. Maddelacheru Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri has immensely liked the film which was based on the real life incidents involving TDP leader and factionist Paritala Ravi and his family,. “I saw the preview yesterday in Bangalore along with about 15 Congress legislators from Karnataka. I liked the film and there are no scenes or situations against which I can raise any objection. Over all the film was good and I am sure it will be a big hit,” Suri said.

However, TDP MLA  and wife of  Paritala Ravi, Sunitha said the film was not upto her expectations. She found the film was far removed from the reality. But hastend to add that she would give her opinion after watching the sequel of the film.  She refused to further elaborate on the matter. She watched the film in Anantapur today.

Daughter of another factionist  late S Chenna Reddy, Usha Rani is upset that Verma portrayed her entire family, her father, his brother Ramanareddy, her brother Obul Reddy as  villains. “In the faction war, our family lost heavily. My father and two of my brothers were killed. Both director Verma and producer C Kalyan have indulged in cheap tactics to make money on the faction wars. I demand  the scenes showing my brother Obul Reddy as villain should be removed from the film,” she said.

Raktha Charitra had rightly depicted the ground realities in the faction-ridden Anantapur  politics, says Venkatanarayana of Malyavanth village. Ramanayudu of the same village said the film  mirrored the ill-effects of factional politics in the Rayalaseema region. Vadde Devulla Murali said politicians need not worry about the film as it would not have any bad impact on the people.
