WARANGAL: Tension prevailed for some time at the Hanamkonda police station on Tuesday with lawyers staging a protest demonstration demanding release of their colleagues.

The trouble started with the lawyers trying to besiege the Congress party office here  demanding resignation of Telangana public representatives.

The police tried to prevent them and when they did not heed their request, arrested them and shifted  them to Hanamkonda police station.

Protesting the arrest of their colleagues other lawyers along with TRS activists staged a dharna in front of the police station.

Meanwhile State Bar Council member M Sahodar Reddy, Warangal Bar Association president R Amarender Reddy along with others also staged a dharna near the Congress party office in Hanamkonda. Later they tried to barge into the office but were prevented by the police resulting in clashes between the two groups. Police later arrested them. T Lawyers’ Association under the aegis of its president G Ravikumar staged a rasta roko in front of the district court protesting the police action.

They demanded suspension of police officials who manhandled  them. They alleged that the police behaved rudely when they were holding a peaceful demonstration.
