HYDERABAD: Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan quit the Telugu Desam and joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the presence of party chief Chandrasekhara Rao at Telangana Bhavan here on Thursday.Admitting Govardhan into his party, the TRS chief accused Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu of thwarting the process of formation of Telangana. "Naidu is main hindrance. He should wash off his sin of obstructing Telangana. He should send a letter to the Centre stating the TDP is in favour of separate Telangana."

Describing Naidu as a Seemandhra leader, the TRS chief said that all the Seemandhra leaders opposed the demand for Telangana.

Rao predicted that the TDP would be wiped out completely from the Telangana region. Rao recalled that after Chidambaram's statement on December 9, all the Seemandhra leaders cutting across party lines got united. "There is no alternative before the Centre. It should grant the wish of Telangana people," Rao said.

Explaining the reason for quitting the TDP, Govardhan said he was vexed with the twoeye theory of Naidu. "Naidu is not discussing the core T issue even at the party forum," he alleged and claimed that he joined the TRS in deference to the wishes of the people of his constituency. "No one forced me to join the TRS. It's just my people's wish," he clarified.

Kamareddy constituency TDP incharge N Surender also joined the TRS along with Govardhan.
