HYDERABAD: The turf war between former endowments minister J Krishna Rao and information and public relations minister DK Aruna has subsided to some extent with the intervention of party senior leader and MP K Keshava Rao.
A mellowed Aruna, after a meeting with party leaders from her district, said that Krishna Rao was free to take out his yatra in her constituency if he was so keen on it and that she had never said she would oppose it.
She, however, expressed apprehension that because of the differences she had with him, there was a possibility that Krishna Rao might resort to some mischief and then shift the blame on her. “This is the only concern I have. Otherwise why should I oppose his yatra,” she said.
Aruna contended that it would be in fitness of things if Krishna Rao discussed with her before finalising an action programme for Telangana.
“I am also committed for Telangana. It should be a collective effort. If each individual has an action programme, there would be no coordination and it would not have a strong impact on the Centre,” she said.
Krishna Rao, on the other hand, said he was a relieved man with governor accepting his resigantion. “Ever since I sent my resignation to party president Sonia Gandhi and chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, I never went to office and discharge the duties of a minister. My resignation was the wish of my people and I acted accordingly,” he said while thanking Sonia for giving him an opportunity to serve as minister.
He, however, did not want to be drawn into a controversy with Aruna. “Individuals are not important. What are they before Telangana. I am more bothered about Telagnana and I would not like to make any comments on her,” he said.
