HYDERABAD: Even as YSR Congress alleged that Congress bigwigs were masterminding the inclusion of YSRC president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the chargesheet, the TDP wondered why was Jagan not arrested, when he was A-1 in the case.

YSRC leader Somayajulu alleged that Congress leaders were behind inclusion of Jagan’s name in the charge-sheet.

The charge-sheet was a conspiracy against Jagan, alleged Bajireddy Govardhan.

He said that his party was exploringn all legal options.

The Opposition TDP which suspected that Jagan’s name may not be included in the charge-sheet did not react to CBI filing the charge-sheet.

A comment was posted on TDP’s website: “The delay in arrest of Jagan is a crystal clear indication of the nexus and match-fixing between YSR Congress president and Congress high command,” TDP observed.

Despite naming him as the as ‘Accused No.1’ in its 66 page chargesheet filed in CBI court, in the illegal assets case on Saturday, the CBI had not made any moves to arrest Jagan, the TDP felt.

Congress leader and chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy said law would take its own course.

Jagan’s name in chargesheet would not have any impact on state politics or on Congress party.

When Rajasekhara Reddy was Chief minister, Jagan “mis-utilised” the CM’s office, the CBI has stated in the chargesheet, Gandra said.

CPI state secretary K Narayana opined that Jagan would not get any extra political mileage following inclusion of his name in the chargesheet.

The police cases would benefit politicians, but Jagan was an exceptional case as the YSRC chief was facing allegations of financial crimes

Jagan Unperturbed, Puts on Brave Face

GUNTUR: Seemingly unperturbed by the filing of charge sheet against him by the CBI and rumours of his imminent arrest, YSR Congress Party president and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy put on a brave face and avoided commenting on the development during his Odarpu Yatra here on Saturday.

Addressing people at meetings, he reiterated his appeal to people vote for the candidates of his party in the coming byelections.

It is rumoured that heavy deployment of policemen at Jagan's meetings has been ordered, saying there are chances of Jagan's arrest by the CBI.

Mediapersons of some Telugu TV channels have even been following Jagan for the past three days and taking shelter wherever Jagan camped in order not to miss the arrest.

But Jagan, who wanted to wind up his Yatra on March 31, has extended it by two days, it is learnt.

Party district convener Marri Rajasekhar said Vijayamma would carry on the yatra and campaign for the party in the byelections in case of Jagan's arrest.

"Party office bearers and other leaders have already discussed it with the party chief and are waiting for his directions,'' said senior leader Ambati Rambabu said.

Meanwhile, several party leaders from different parts of the state have started pouring into the district to meet Jagan.
