I never backtracked on Telangana, says Sarve Satyanarayana

The newly-appointed Union minister of state for road transport and highways Sarve Satyanarayana has denied that he backtracked on his earlier stance on Telangana and vowed to continue his fight to secure statehood for the region.

 A day after taking charge of his ministry, Satyanarayana came by a special flight from Delhi on Friday.

 As soon as he landed at the airport, a large number of his supporters greeted him for his induction into the Union cabinet.

 He was taken to his residence in a procession by a multitude of his followers and supporters.

 The huge procession caused traffic snarls en route.

 Expressing his shock over the untimely death of TDP leader K Yerran Naidu, the Union minister said that he would institute a probe into the rising number of accidents on highways in the state
