The newly-appointed Union minister of state for road transport and highways Sarve Satyanarayana has denied that he backtracked on his earlier stance on Telangana and vowed to continue his fight to secure statehood for the region.

A day after taking charge of his ministry, Satyanarayana came by a special flight from Delhi on Friday.

The huge procession caused traffic snarls en route.

Expressing his shock over the untimely death of TDP leader K Yerran Naidu, the Union minister said that he would institute a probe into the rising number of accidents on highways in the state
