Chandrababu Naidu for full fee reimbursement

Express News Service

Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu has criticised the state government’s decision to restrict the full fee reimbursement scheme to top 10,000 EAMCET rank holders and termed it anti-poor.

Demanding that the government pay the total fee reimbursement to all students, Naidu wrote a letter to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday.

A student who secures admission to a private engineering college with higher rank will have to bear an additional burden of Rs 15,000 to Rs 70,000 due to the government’s decision and over 20 lakh students would suffer, he said.

He demanded implementation of the policy announced by the Congress in its manifesto by reimbursing the entire fee of all eligible students irrespective of rank in EAMCET.

He also asked the government to reconsider the decision to ensure full fee reimbursement to all BC/EBC students without fail and help the student community from poorer sections to pursue higher studies in the engineering colleges and other professional colleges.

He further said that the government should take steps for early completion of counselling process which was already delayed by one month.
