SC dismisses plea against Kishore Deo

The Supreme Court has dismissed a curative petition filed by Reghu Maheswara Rao against Union minister for tribal welfare and panchayat raj Vyricherla Kishore Chandra Suryanarayana Deo's bona fide status as a member of the ST. Deo has been elected to the Lok Sabha from Araku in Visakhapatnam district.

According to Deo, an apex court bench comprising chief justice SH Kapadia and justices Altamas Kabir, DK Jain and HL Gokhale dismissed the petition on August 7. Rao had earlier filed similar petitions before the AP High Court which were dismissed. He filed a civil petition and a review petition in the Supreme Court in 2011. Those petitions too were dismissed. Finally, Rao filed the curative petition in 2012, which too has been dismissed.
