PV's son Ranga Rao passes away

Former minister and Congress leader PV Ranga Rao, eldest son of former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao, passed away in Hyderabad in the wee hours of Thursday. He was 73.

Rao has been suffering from illness for the past three days. At around 2 a.m. on Thursday, he suffered cardiac arrest and breathed his last at his residence in Himyathnagar. Rao was a bachelor and was the eldest among three brothers and five sisters.

Ranga Rao, who represented Hanamkonda Assembly constituency in Warangal district twice, served as minister for education in the cabinet of former chief minister Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy in 90s.  Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Legislative Council chairman Chakrapani,  MLAs, MLCs and Rajya Sabha members paid their last respects.
