Teachers’ JAC to join Samaikya stir

The Samaikyandhra Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to join the strike against state bifurcation from August 21 midnight.

In view of the strike, the teacher leaders have appealed to the State government to postpone the EAMCET engineering counselling here Sunday.

At a press conference in the city on Sunday after convening a meeting with the leaders of 13 districts, Samaikyandhra Teachers’ JAC convener M Kamalakar said that they would serve strike notices to the Chief Secretary on Monday, and added that relay hunger strikes would be organised in the region on August 19, 20 and 21. He informed that around three lakh teachers in the two regions would go on strike.

The teachers assigned  for Avanigadda bypoll duties would attend their duties.

However, the teachers’ association leader assured that if the bifurcation problem is resolved to their satisfaction and expectations, they would work even on holidays to complete the syllabus and ensure that education year is not wasted.
