Paritala’s son booked in foiled murder plot case

Express News Service

The three persons, arrested by the police while carrying lethal weapons at Naga Samudram Gate in the early hours of Saturday, allegedly hatched a conspiracy, along with some politicians including the late Paritala Ravindra’s son Sreeram, to eliminate Congress leader and Dharmavaram former councillor Kamireddipalle Sudhakar Reddy.

Speaking to newsmen at Dharmavaram on Monday, DSP Nawab John said the trio had revealed their plan during questioning.

Based on the information provided by the accused, police included Paritala Sreeram as accused No 11 in the case.

The accused also revealed the names of E Srinivasulu, E Siva Shankar, Raghavendra, K Jayachandra, V Suryanarayana, K Venkatapathi, Ramu (working as driver to Raptad TDP MLA Paritala Suneetha) and N Hussain as the other conspirators.

All of them were at large but the police would arrest them soon, the DSP said.

A special party of the police on Saturday detained Vadde Nagaraju, Vadde Ramakrishna and M Srinivasulu who were going in a Scorpio and seized lethal weapons, including countrymade guns, sickles and country- made bombs from them.

Initially, the name of Chaman, a close associate of Paritala Ravi, also figured among the suspects, as one of the accused, E Srinivasulu, worked as Chaman’s driver 10 years ago. However, Chaman denied his role in the conspiracy.

Meanwhile, Kadiri TDP MLA K Venkatasiva Prasad, who came to Hindupur to appear in the court in a murder case, found fault with the police for registering a case against Sreeram.

It is not fair to register cases against a person like Sreeram, who is in no way connected with the case, he said. However, the development has triggered fears among the local people that it could revive faction feuds in the area.

Councillor Sudhakar Reddy has a running feud with TDP followers which started after the killing of TDP activist Narasimha Murthy and two of his kin in Kamireddipalle, a village in Dharmavaram mandal.

TDP leaders suspect Sudhakar Reddy behind the murder leading to rivalry between the two groups.
