The proposal of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to float a federal front with like-minded regional parties as an alternative to the Congress-led UPA and BJP-led NDA seems to be gaining momentum. A day after Mamata said she had spoken to her Bihar and Odisha counterparts, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday endorsed her plans and said his party would be a part of the proposed front. “You may call it federal front or third front or some other alternative, I am sure it will form the government at the Centre after the 2014 elections,” Naidu said.

In an informal chat with reporters on Thursday, he disclosed that he was in touch with leaders of various regional leaders including Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee.
