Express News Service

Indian citizens need a political alternative other than the Congress and the BJP, CPM politburo member and MP Sitaram Yechury has said, adding that the party is in talks with other political parties to plan an alliance for the 2014 general elections.

Yechury was in Kurnool on Sunday to take part in the 100th year birth anniversary celebrations of party founding member Puchalapalli Sundaraiah.

Yechury laid the foundation stone for the Sundaraiah Memorial Bhavan at Karshak Bhavan premises and also unveiled a statue of the CPM founding member at the party district office.

Later, he participated in a public meeting and Muslim Sadassu at various places in the town.

Yechury said that the Prime Minister has to provide clear information and facts about the scams committed by his Cabinet colleagues. “The Congress is a scam party and the BJP too is the same. However, we don’t demand the resignation of the PM,” he said.
