VIJAYAWADA: A college girl, who was a victim of the Sairam gang’s racket of befriending young girls and then blackmailing with their nude videos, mustered courage to spill the beans to the city police Thursday. The Vijayawada police arrested a gang which used to sweet-talk college girls and shot obscene films to later blackmail them.
“Sairam trapped the girl and shot obscene videos of her and demanded Rs 4 lakh from the girl’s parents. The girl and her parents did initially did not come out in the open fearing that the videos would be made public and the girl’s life would be spoilt. But after the police arrested the Sairam gang and explained to the public about their activities, the girl approached the police and a case was filed,” said Vijayawada CP AB Venkateswara Rao.
The CP said that the identity of the victims of the gang would be kept confidential and urged the girls to come forward to seek police help.
