Settibalijas Seek TD Dist President Post

Express News Service

KAKINADA: Many persons from Kapu and Settibalija communities of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are vying for the party district president post.

The vacancy arose as Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, district president for the last two decades, became the deputy chief minister. Rajappa was elected from Peddapuram constituency.

Former MLAs and candidates who lost the recent elections and belong to Kapu community are in the frontline. Party senior leaders Reddy Subranyam, Pilli Sattibabu from Settibalija community, Yanamala Krishnudu from the Yadava community are also in the race for the post.

Settibalija leaders are asking the party high command to allot district president post to it as Chinna Rajappa, Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham and ZP chairman Namana Rambabu are Kapus.

Meanwhile, the party high command is scouting for a strong leader to head the district unit.
