VIJAYAWADA: Minister Kollu Ravindra, who has been allocated BC Welfare and Empowerment, Handlooms and Excise portfolios, thanking CM N Chandrababu Naidu for giving him the Cabinet berth, has pledged that he will work hard and try to get a good grasp on the administration by visiting all the 13 districts.

Kollu Ravindra, talking to the Press at the State Guest House in Vijayawada after the announcement of portfolios Wednesday, said that Machilpatnam Port, the long-cherished dream of local people, would be realised and Vijayawada would be developed as a world-class city by developing infrastructure, flyover at Durga Temple and solving underground drainage problem.

Ravindra urged the Union government to take steps to rescue Telugu students who were washed away in Beas river or at least make efforts to retrieve their bodies.

“CM Chandrababu Naidu has promised that the works related to the Machilipatnam Port will started within six months of his assuming power and we are confident that Chandrababu, being a development-oriented leader who sticks to his words, will take up the project.

 Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana, who was present at the press conference, said Naidu had proved that he was a great leader by taking the parents of the /students who were washed away in river Beas, to the accident spot.
