Plea Filed in SC for Eamcet 2nd Counselling

HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it will hear the plea of the AP State Council of Higher Education seeking permission to conduct the second counselling for Eamcet admissions, on Thursday.

The council filed an application before the apex court submitting that the first round of counselling was closed on August 31 in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court.

The council submitted that there were hundreds of seats left unfilled and urged the court to grant permission for conducting second counselling.

The counsel for the Telangana government urged the court to grant time to get instructions from the government.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Sudhansu Jyoti Mukhopadhaya said it will hear the case on Thursday and in the meanwhile the counsel can get instructions from the government and place its stand before it by Thursday.
