New Plan for Annavaram Temple Likely

Express News Service

The Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy temple management is preparing a master plan for the temple in strict adherence to the ‘vastu’ and ‘agama’ rules. As a part of this exercise, some of the existing structures will be replaced with new ones.

The government has entrusted the task of preparing the master plan to Hyderabad-based company Prasad Designs whose director G Raghava Prasad visited Ratnagiri, Satyagiri, Gosala, the colleges run by the temple management and various other structures on the premises of the shrine Wednesday.

Raghava Prasad suggested that no structure be constructed above the level of the sanctum sanctorum. ‘Harihara Sadan’ on Satyagiri and the lift behind the temple were above the height of the temple which was not correct as per the ‘agama’ rules, he said and added that the ‘prasadam’ and ‘anna prasadam’ kitchens should be located on the premises of the temple. All the four streets of the temple should be developed on par with ‘mada’ streets of Tirumala.
