Amaravati, Vijaywada to Grow as Twin Cities

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh’s new capital city of Amaravati and Vijayawada will grow as twin cities in the future due to their close proximity. The diverse economy of the two cities will complement each other, according to the blueprint of Amaravati’s final master plan released recently.

The Capital Region Plan proposed regional centres have been planned around the existing towns of Nuzvid, Gudivada, Tenali, Guntur, Sattenapalle, Nandigama and Parmaru.

It also proposed a central twin city accommodating Vijayawada and Amaravati as a mega city with complementary economic roles such as Vijayawada to be business capital, Guntur to be education hub, Ibrahimpatanam to be industrial hub and Mangalagiri to be logistics hub.
