Collectorate to be e-office from Dasara

About 18 lakh files have been converted into e-files so far

VISAKHAPATNAM: As a smart initiative, the district collectorate is going to be e-office from Dasara. Already 18 lakh files in the collectorate had been scanned and many more are yet to be done by Thursday.

After a video-conference with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, district collector N Yuvaraj said that the collectorate would be completely transformed into an e-office, and he also wanted the government offices in the district to be computerised. Yuvaraj said that the Chief Minister had wanted to make use of funds allotted to the backward villages for the e-office system. He said that all the major departments of public services had to be computerised, and applied for digital key. Earlier in the video conference, Chandrababu Naidu spoke with the officials of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry departments, and asked them to concentrate on increasing their revenue in the near future. He said that both the departments had many opportunities in the state.

In Vizianagaram district, Chandrababu Naidu asked district collector MM Naik to implement the works as a part of the Smart City and Smart wards. He asked Naik to come up with awareness programmes over the ill-effects of open defecation and to eradicate it completely in the district. The CM also spoke about the living conditions, self-help groups and their coordination with banks.

In Srikakulam district, collector P Lakshmi Nrusimham told the Chief Minister that they had collected clay and holy water from 147 wards and 1,109 panchayats for the Amaravathi Foundation laying ceremony. After performing poojas, people carrying them will start as Shoba Yatra on October 18.
