VISAKHAPATNAM:Two days after the death of M Bhavani Prasanna, her parents along with family members alleged that she was murdered by someone and thrown on the railway tracks near Tuni. They didn’t rule out RPF personnel’s foul play in the case and met Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu here Saturday.
The family members will also meet top officials of state GRP in Vijayawada Sunday and complain about the situation.
According to the family members of the girl, Bhavani left home on October 21, saying that she was going to one of their relatives’ home. As she didn’t return even at night, the family members lodged a missing complaint with the Duvvada police the same night. A few hours after the complaint was filed, the father of Bhavani received a call. The stranger informed that Bhavani was at Tuni railway station and asked him to contact you over phone. As the phone call was received when the father was in the police station itself, the station sub-inspector also spoke to the stranger, and asked him to intimate or hand over her to the local GRP. Parents of Bhavani searched for Bhavani after reaching Tuni railway station in the wee hours of Wednesday but could not trace her. The next day the family members received a phone call informing them that Bhavani was hit by a train. “Bhavani must have been tortured by someone and thrown on the railway tracks,” said NV Satyanarayana, uncle of Bhavani Prasanna.
The family members suspect that Bhavani met some strangers, who might have murdered her and thrown the body on the railway tracks and floated the suicide story. “We expressed our concern and possibilities of murder in Bhavani’a case to Ayyanna Patrudu and Duvvada inspector Simhadri Naidu. Ayyanna Patrudu promised to speak to the concerned officials in the case. The inspector asked us to approach the GRP Commissioner in Vijayawada. We are going tomorrow,” said Satyanarayana.
