Komati Jayaram, AP Representative in US

HYDERABAD: AP govt on Monday appointed TDP’s NRI wing leader and former president of Telugu Association of North America (TANA) Komati Jayaram as its Special Representative for North America.

In an order issued, Jayaram in the capacity of special representative will liaison, facilitate and assist all officials and dignitaries of AP government going to North America. He would also mobilise financial, technical and human resources from North America for economic, social, cultural and tourism development of AP.

Jayaram is the son of former Congress MLA Komati Bhaskar Rao, who represented Mylavaram Assembly seat in Krishna district from 1989 to 1994. However, the NRI leader has been with the TDP ever since he joined the party in 2004 from the Congress.

Jayaram, who resides at Milpitas city in Santa Clara County in California, founded Swagat group of Hotels. He also owns a chain of Indian restaurants in California. He is the founder president of first Telugu newspaper in North America.
