Nannapaneni Appointed Andhra Women's Commission Chief

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday constituted State Women’s Commission and appointed senior TDP leader Nannapaneni Rajakumari as it chairperson.

According to two separate GOs issued in this regard, as per Section 75 of AP Reorganization Act, 2014, the present Women’s Commission is under Schedule X. As it is physically located in the state of Telangana, it devolves to the state of Telangana.

“Therefore, there is a need to constitute AP Women’s Commission in AP. In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5(1) of the AP Women’s Commission Act, 1998, the state government hereby constitutes the AP Women’s Commission,” the order stated.

The AP Women’s Commission will have a chairperson and five members. The term of them will be for  five years.
