VIJAYAWADA: The AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) officials continued demolition drive on Thursday and removed illegal structure in Yanamalakuduru area of Vijayawada.

The demolition squad pulled down five buildings in the area in last two days which were constructed without the necessary approvals from the CRDA.

Speaking to Express, APCRDA development control director V Ramudu said that as many as 80 illegal structures were identified by the officials in Yanamalakuduru area. Notices were served to all the violators earlier, but with constructions continuing unhindered and no corrective measures coming up, they have taken up their demolition.

‘’Four special teams were deployed to execute the demolition drive for next five days to clear all the illegal structures in the area. People should be aware of the rules and regulations in place and if the set norms were followed or not, before  purchasing plots, apartments and group houses in the capital region’’, Ramudu said.
