GUNTUR: The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has allotted plots to the farmers of Sakhamuru village in the capital region of Amaravati on Wednesday.
The number of residential plots stood at 1,883 and the number of commercial plots were 1,236. With as many as 100 farmers of the village giving option for getting villas, the CRDA allotted 500 square yards villas to 99 farmers and a 1,000 square yards villa to one farmer.
Immediately after the completion of lots through computer for allocation of plots to farmers, the confirmation about the same was sent to the mobiles of the respective farmers about the location of their plots. The CRDA pooled 1,518 acres of land from 1,580 farmers under the Land Pooling System (LPS) from the Sakhamuru village.
The CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar along with the Guntur District Collector Kantilal Dande took the lots and allocated the plots. The plot allotment papers were handed over to some of the farmers on the spot.
Sreedhar said that they have made all arrangements for the registration of plots and handing over the legal document to farmers from Thursday.
Once the farmers come to the competent authority along with original documents and passbooks, the CRDA officials will complete the formalities and will register the plots in the name of the farmers on the same day, he explained.
After giving peg mark to the plots within three weeks and completing the process of laying gravel roads, the developed layouts will be handed over to the beneficiaries, he said and added that they have already arranged financial and technical sources for the completing the process at the earliest.
