Vizag passport office launches student connect programme at GITAM

To ease the passport application process for the university students, the Regional Passport Office in Vizag launched a student connect programme at GITAM University here on Saturday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: To ease the passport application process for the university students, the Regional Passport Office in Vizag launched a student connect programme at GITAM University here on Saturday. It was inaugurated by GITAM University vice-chancellor MS Prasada Rao, in the presence of Regional Passport Officer NLP Chowdary and deputy passport officer Kiran Kumar Misra.

On the occasion, Prasada Rao advised the students to avail of the opportunity to get their passports during their study on the university campus which will help them to travel to different parts of the globe under student exchange programmes, competitions, higher studies and career opportunities.

Chowdary said that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) students connect is aimed at preparing globally ready students by helping to avail of passport in a simple manner. “We will facilitate students by allotting special time slots for walk-in processing of applications sans appointment at Passport Seva Kendra,” he said.
