VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy seems to be having ‘home’ pressure on him now a days. His brother KE Prabhakar, who aspired for MLC post but did not get one, has been breathing down the neck of senior TDP leader.
Mentioning the same during a chitchat with mediapersons in the lobbies of the Assembly on Tuesday, he said Prabhakar was pointing out that JC Brothers’ family were given three tickets (JC Diwakar Reddy is MP, his brother JC Prabhakar Reddy is MLA from Tadipatri and son-in-law Deepak Reddy has been nominated for MLC post).
He further pointed out that no one from backward classes were selected as candidates for the MLC posts from Rayalaseema. He opined only when a ticket to his family is given, Kurnool MP seat could be won.
When KE’s comments were discussed with a senior leader of TDP, he said the selection of the candidates by the party supremo was based on merit and loyalty. “Picking of the candidates by the party chief was well thought. Deepak Reddy has been with the party for long and is very loyal to the party,” he said.
However, Tadipatri MLA JC Prabhakar seemed not amused with the comments of KE and said it was decision of the party leadership. “Deepak was with the party long before we joined it,” he pointed out.
